Getting Started

Rendzo is a powerful desktop route planner, GPX editor, and trip organizer, with rich support for media, tagging, and organizing. Rendzo helps you plan your next adventure and relive all of your past adventures. You build on your laptop/desktop, plan every detail path, trail, road, and when you’re ready, export it in standard GPX format for use in your favorite mobile GPS app like Garmin, DMD2, Gaia GPS, or your favorite iPhone or Android app.
No, Rendzo.com offers both a standard and a premium plan, each with a 7-day trial that can be canceled at any time. Check our pricing page for details. It’s a paid-for product to cover the cost of hosting, the services we use (ex: mapbox), and the significant development investment that went into building the product.
No. Rendzo.com is a browser web app only. It’s best used on a desktop computer. The service is not optimized for mobile use at this time. The intent is to provide the best desktop browser building experience and to support exporting GPX files to mobile devices for navigation.
Rendzo transforms gpx.studio into a full cloud platform. Your data lives in the cloud (not in your local browser cache), syncs to all your devices, and is always available to you.

Features

Rendzo primarily works with GPX files, the standard format for GPS data exchange.
Every GPX file you import lives on the server — that’s your library. The Status column (and the toggle card at the top of the Dashboard) tells you whether each file is also currently Open in the App on this computer:
  • Server — stored in your cloud library, not currently open in the App on this device.
  • Open — open in the App on this device (hover the label to see “Open in app”). It’s still on the server too — “Open” just means it’s loaded into the App right now.
You can have different files open on different computers. The Dashboard always shows what’s open on the computer you’re using. To close a file you’re done with (without deleting it from the server), use “Remove from device” in the App. The file stays in your library and can be opened again any time.
Some features require an internet connection for map tiles and elevation data. Files are edited locally, but all routing and synchronizing to the cloud requires an internet connection.
